WebSolway Heritage was set up to conserve, interpret and promote the natural, built and cultural heritage of Dumfries and Galloway. From September 1997 to February 2000, I implemented the Archaeosights Project, to enhance public access and interpretation of archaeological sites across Dumfries and Galloway. WebIn 2003, Solway Heritage contacted the Landmark Trust to ask if we could help. A long lease was agreed with the Cumloden Estate and with a grant from Historic Scotland and donations from private trusts and individuals, the former schoolhouse has been sensitively restored within that setting.
