It originates from Jifu Mountain, Zaduo County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China. After it flows to Qamdo, it is called the Lancang River. Then, it continues southward to the exit of the Nanla River in Yunnan Province.
