That's the only way to make six .45 Colt cartridges fit. Kirst in .45 Colt are all five shot. Kirst also makes one with a loading gate and an ejector assembly. A. That was just for the 1858/6 shot cylinder. If you want a "drop" cyl, Howell should have them as well as gated conversions.

The 38 special one should use either rebated bullets or soft lead hollow point SWC (to expand and fit the barrel) or accuracy won't be too good. The 38 short Colt cylinder does not have that problem.
