In 1809 the congregation moved to the New Gravel Pit Chapel nearby, while its old premises were taken over by Congregationalists. WebThe cemetery was established in 1715 and got its name from the nearby gravel pit. In 1809 the congregation moved to the New Gravel Pit Chapel nearby. The chapel was rebuilt in a Gothic style in 1857 and was demolished in 1970 to make room for new apartment blocks. The cemetery still remains today.
