Egophony tuberculosis
WebEgophony (British English, aegophony) is an increased resonance of voice sounds heard when auscultating the lungs, often caused by lung consolidation and fibrosis. It is due to enhanced transmission of high-frequency sound across fluid, such as in abnormal lung tissue, with lower frequencies filtered out. WebIt is most commonly caused by aspiration of oral secretions by patients who have impaired consciousness. Symptoms are productive cough, fever, sweats, and weight loss. Diagnosis is based primarily on chest x-ray. Treatment usually is with a combination beta-lactam/beta-lactamase inhibitor or a carbapenem. Etiology of Lung Abscess
